Job Description
We are seeking a driven and experienced Buyer Supervisor to join our dynamic team in Pelzer, SC, supporting Vertiv's rapidly expanding operations. This is a critical leadership role within our manufacturing facility, focused on driving operational excellence, team performance, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
POSITION SUMMARY
Direct team of procurement professionals in South Carolina and international shared services to manage all activities related to the procurement of direct materials and indirect materials and services for Liebert Services, Electrical Reliability Services (ERS), Critical Uptime Solutions, Energy Systems Services, Chloride Industrial Services, and Canadian operations of Liebert Services & Energy Systems Services (does not include subcontracted services related to Critical Space product offering). Lead sourcing activities to identify suppliers of Direct materials, and leverage sister business unit spend to benefit Liebert Services. Drive material deflation activity to meet business unit Net Material Inflation and cost reduction objectives. Lead activities for formalized Indirect materials and services programs and ensure professional procurement practices are utilized in all transactions. Provide data, reports, and exhibits to Finance and corporate teams as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Set strategic direction and manage Supply Chain team of Strategic Supply Chain Managers, Analyst, and interns, assigning projects and directing activities. Recruit, hire, train, develop, and manage performance of team members.
+ Oversee Supply Chain Intern program. Identify needs, prepare requisitions, recruit at area universities, evaluate, and hire interns for Liebert Services supply chain positions.
+ Lead strategic thought process and development of new methods of acquiring materials and services.
+ Develop and lead Supplier Recognition Program for direct, indirect, and subcontract suppliers. Gather data, ensure accuracy, prepare reporting, lead selection process, and lead award/recognition process.
+ Participate in and lead Lean Six Sigma improvement projects. Pursue or maintain Green Belt and Black Belt certifications.
+ Subject matter expert for Supply Chain systems, including spend analytics, inflation model, eSourcing system, and others. Participate in sourcing, section, design, and implementation of new systems.
+ Support reporting and analysis efforts of Global Resource & Operations Center teams.
+ Oversee and report department requirements for corporate driven environmental compliance programs (i.e., REACH, RoHS, WEEE and Solid Wood Packaging Material requirements, etc.)
+ Assist in creating annual department budget, and review/maintain costs within budget throughout fiscal year.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Job Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's Degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain, or Business or equivalent experience required.
+ 7-10 years of related experience, with increasing levels of responsibility.
+ Must be highly proficient in MS Excel and proficient in all Microsoft Office suite applications.
+ Must be able to understand and interpret blueprints and technical data.
+ Must be persuasive, and demonstrate diplomacy, tact, and excellent listening skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ APICS and/or NAPM certification is preferred.
+ Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt is preferred.
+ Experience manipulating and modeling large datasets is strongly preferred.
+ Skilled in managing a diverse team of professionals, with demonstrated success in delegation, leadership, and associates' career development.
+ Self-starter able to operate without direct supervision, prioritize tasks, and respond quickly to changes.
+ Strong interpersonal skills with keen ability to interact with all levels within the organization.
+ Drive, energy, and enthusiasm. Must thrive in a challenging environment requiring 100% effort and work ethic. A passion for excellence and team player.

+ Demonstrated experience managing multiple, changing tasks and meeting challenging deadlines.
+ Demonstrates attention to detail through accuracy and completeness of information.
+ Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines
+ Knowledge of company procurement policies, procedures, and products
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
+ Bachelor's Degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain, or Business or equivalent experience required.
