Job Summary and Qualifications

Seeking a Behavioral Health Intake Registered Nurse. You will conduct patient intake screenings to ensure all patients receive accurate placement according to medical criteria facilitating high quality, efficient care in a psychiatric environment. What you will do in this role:

+ You will conduct patient-centered intake screenings utilizing appropriate medical necessity criteria.

+ You will facilitate the determination whether a patient meet admission criteria or referral to community resource is required, working with Physician to ensure appropriate disposition.

+ You will develop and maintain relationships with outside agencies that provide funding sources.

+ You will assesses potential funding sources for patients and coordinates insurance and private pay billings as needed.

+ You will work collaboratively with other community medical facilities/agencies to obtain appropriate authorizations for patient care.

+ You will collaborate medical treatment with third party payers and utilization review department to qualify patients for current or continued care needs, obtaining pre-admission authorization prior to admission.

Requirements:

+ Must be licensed as a Florida Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required within 60 days of hire.

+ Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.

+ American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) required.

+ Current CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) required within 60 days of hire.

+ Fingerprinting required upon hire.

+ Minimum 1 year RN experience in acute care setting.

+ Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills
