Senior Accountant
Employment Type: Full-Time, Long-Term Contract
Department: Accounting & Finance
Reports To: Accounting Manager / Controller
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accountant to join our client's finance team for a long-term contract. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
+ Lead and execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
+ Prepare and review financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
+ Analyze general ledger accounts and perform ongoing financial reviews to maintain data integrity.
+ Support budgeting and forecasting processes through financial modeling and trend analysis.
+ Manage and reconcile fixed assets, accruals, prepaid accounts, and other key balance sheet areas.
+ Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
+ Monitor and improve accounting procedures, internal controls, and documentation.
+ Contribute to process improvements, automation initiatives, and system enhancements.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams including AP, AR, FP& A, and operations.
+ Mentor junior accounting staff and provide guidance as needed.
Requirements
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
+ 4–7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
+ Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
+ Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Excel skills.
+ Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
+ Effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Preferred Skills
+ Exposure to multi-entity or multi-currency environments.
+ Knowledge of process automation tools or ERP implementations.
