Description We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Agoura Hills, California. This role requires advanced skills in project accounting, cost analysis, and financial management to ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations. As a key member of the accounting team, you will oversee contract reviews, billing processes, and compliance with accounting principles.

Responsibilities:

• Review contract terms, exhibits, and billing provisions to ensure compliance and accuracy.

• Set up projects in QuickBooks Online and Procore according to company standards and contract requirements.

• Maintain accurate and real-time records of project costs, including vendor invoices and employee expenses.

• Monitor labor and project costs against budgets, identifying discrepancies and initiating timely corrective actions.

• Process accounts payable, ensuring invoices are properly coded, approved, and aligned with payment schedules.

• Manage project-level cash flow to prioritize critical payments and maintain continuity.

• Prepare and issue monthly project billings, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with cost-plus contracts.

• Track change orders and ensure they are documented, approved, and accurately billed.

• Communicate with vendors to address invoice queries and resolve discrepancies.

• Ensure all financial operations adhere to established accounting principles and company policies. Requirements • Proven experience in month-end close processes and general ledger management.

• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Procore for project accounting.

• Strong knowledge of journal entries, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliations.

• Ability to analyze and track project costs while identifying potential cost overruns.

• Experience in preparing and issuing project billings with appropriate documentation.

• Familiarity with revenue recognition principles and accrual-based accounting concepts.

• Excellent communication skills for vendor and client interactions.

• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
