Summary Position requires real time mission support of the 59th Test and Evaluation Squadron (TES) at Nellis AFB. Support team will be responsible for test instrumentation management and data validation for testing activities including daily instrumentation operations, instrumentation engineering, and data transfer actions to supply aircraft data to its operational analysts and other Operational Test stakeholders. Essential duties and Responsibilities • Must possess the ability to plan, develop, modify, troubleshoot, and maintain one-of-a-kind airborne instrumentation systems and upgrade their capabilities based on application of emerging technology in aircraft such as, but not limited to, F-15E, F-16, F-22, and F-35. • Possess the ability to perform calibration and troubleshooting for installed instrumentation systems, including video recording, digital data recording, weapon function monitoring, and other data collection systems. • Possess practical knowledge of electronic principles and practices and skill in the use of various pieces of electronic test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, PLA/PLC programmers, telemetry systems, spectrum analyzers, oscillators, amplifiers, and power supplies. • Ability to evaluate, upgrade, modify and operate instrumentation systems prior, during and post operational missions. This work shall include integration, functional checkouts, and mission data capture activities. • Ability to coordinate instrumentation requirements, schedules, work plans and other functions between the Operations division and Aircraft Maintenance Unit to verify mission readiness. • Possess the skill to interpret technical data such as drawings, schematics, blueprints, and specifications of complete electronic systems. • Ability to provide technical leadership to other technicians and support personnel. • Possess the skill to control electronic data collection systems using nonconventional modification hardware and understand their capabilities and plan, develop, construct, and integrate new devices into the system to perform multiple tasks not previously associated with aerospace and/or other test and evaluation system capabilities. • Possess practical knowledge in support of modification, and operations activities the Contractor shall move, store or load instrumentation systems, conduct system functional checks, cockpit integrity checks, data uploads/downloads, and mission configurations. • Possess the ability to coordinate and work with operating personnel in related fields and test support personnel as required and to plan, accomplish, and analyze test results. • Possess the ability to coordinate data reduction and analyze data to ensure instrumentation compatibility with data reduction capabilities and to monitor the validity of data and operational dependability of instrumentation. • Strong communication skills and ability to effectively complete tasks while interfacing at all levels. • Attend mandatory government, and corporate meetings as required. • Physical requirements include sitting and standing for long periods of time and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. • Travel requirements may include occasional travel to support mission requirements. Required Qualifications • High School diploma or equivalent plus 2 years’ general aircraft maintenance experience. • Must have and maintain a valid state driver’s license. • Must have an active Secret Security Clearance. • Must pass all pre-employment screenings including a drug screening and annual vision and hearing screenings. • Must adhere to safe work practices and standards while performing daily tasks, taking responsibility for own and coworkers’ safekeeping and encouraging others to work safely. • Must be able to work under supervision and respond appropriately and professionally to feedback from Supervisors and Lead Technician(s). • With the exception of STD/LTD/FMLA and approved time off, attendance is considered essential. Flexibility in work hours is necessary to support scheduled missions and events is mandatory; shift work is necessary. Possible shifts include days, nights, weekends and holiday support. Occasional overtime may be required. Desired Qualifications • Active Top Secret Clearance • Instrumentation system experience desired but not required.
