Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator who is adept at reading blueprints and tape measures. You will be responsible for operating a variety of machinery including band saws, mold press machines, and cranes. Your role will involve setting up machines for high-volume part manufacturing, performing quality inspections, and reporting any defects.
Responsibilities
+ Read and interpret blueprints accurately.
+ Measure materials to precision using a tape measure up to 1/16th of an inch during the interview and 1/32nd of an inch on the floor.
+ Operate and manage band saws and mold press machines efficiently.
+ Conduct quality inspections and report any defective parts to the manager.
+ Operate an overhead crane to move materials onto the production line.
+ Perform lockout/tagout procedures to ensure safety.
+ Input information accurately into computer systems.
+ Support assembly by manufacturing a high volume of parts.
+ Maintain adherence to safety and quality standards.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in reading blueprints and tape measures.
+ Experience with machine operation, particularly in heavy industrial settings.
+ A minimum of 1 year of experience in heavy industrial machine operation.
+ Experience with brake press or similar machinery.
+ Ability to perform detailed quality checks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High School diploma or equivalent is required.
+ Experience operating a sit-down forklift is advantageous.
+ Overhead crane operation skills are beneficial.

Work Environment
This is a newly expanded facility, built in early 2019, that features a climate-controlled, modern, and open space. There are no tight spaces, and the environment is very clean and well-maintained. Employees have access to a new kitchen and market area, as well as vending machines for snacks and lunch items. Locker bays are available for personal storage, ensuring a convenient and organized workspace. Shifts include 1st shift from 5 am to 1:30 pm and 2nd shift from 2 pm to 10:30 pm, with mandatory overtime of one hour after every shift and every other Saturday.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hobart, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $19.00/hr.
