Prefab Operator & Shop Helper
**Location:** Vancouver, WA
**Pay:** $22–$23 per hour, depending on experience
**Shift:** Day Shift | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled **Prefab Operator & Shop Helper** to support our fabrication operations. In this role, you will use prefab machinery to prepare parts with precision, relying on strong measurement skills, the ability to convert and reduce fractions, and the use of various cutting and fabrication tools. You will also assist with part layout and interpretation of detailed drawings.
Key Responsibilities
+ Operate prefab equipment to prepare materials for fabrication.
+ Measure and cut components accurately using a tape measure, including converting decimals to fractions down to 1/16”.
+ Use cutting and fabrication tools, such as drills, saws, grinders, and related equipment.
+ Lay out parts according to blueprints and detailed shop drawings.
+ Create cutting lists based on provided drawings.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in **MIG welding** and fitting.
+ Ability to read and interpret **blueprints, drawings, and layout specifications** .
+ Strong tape-measure and measurement‑conversion skills.
+ Solid understanding of **shop math** .
+ Experience using metalworking equipment including saws, drills, torches, and grinders.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
+ Ability to take on multiple responsibilities and shift between tasks as needed.
+ Team‑oriented attitude and strong communication skills.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vancouver, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.
