Responsibilities
We are seeking qualified candidates for an opportunity to join the expanding Pharmacist Specialist Team at Mayo Clinic in Florida. This position will support the Nutrition Support and Pharmacy Practices. In addition to providing an expert level of guidance for managing the care of Parenteral Nutrition Hospitalized and Ambulatory Patients, the Nutrition Pharmacist Specialist will serve as a Preceptor in Learning Experiences for our Pharmacy Residency and Student Education Programs, and lead quality improvement projects in the Nutrition Support Practice. Board Certification in Nutrition Support Pharmacy (BCNSP) is required; Candidates enrolled in a PGY2 residency in area of specialty are required to obtain board certification within 12 months of hire.
Effectively performs the skills and responsibilities of a Pharmacist in medication order verification, preparation, dispensing, consultation, therapy management, education, research, and professional supervision of Pharmacy Technicians. Balances responsibilities of a Pharmacist with activities and responsibilities of a Pharmacist Specialist. Provides an expert level of guidance on medication use in the specialty area of practice. Serves as preceptor for Pharmacy Education program(s) and participates in research activities. Leads quality improvement projects in the specialty area of practice.
Receives direction from Pharmacy supervisor or other members of the Pharmacy Leadership Team. Gives direction to Pharmacy Residents, Technicians, Interns and Students. Collaborates with specialty teams. Works cooperatively with Pharmacy management, other Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians and support staff, patients, Physicians, Nurses, and other members of the healthcare team.
Qualifications
Qualifications
+ Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy (Pharm.D. or B.S.) AND completion of one of the following:
+ An accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency AND an accredited PGY2 pharmacy residency in area of specialty
+ OR an accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency AND at least 2-years of relevant pharmacy practice experience in specialty area
+ OR at least 2-years of relevant pharmacy practice experience AND at least 2-years of relevant pharmacy practice experience in specialty area.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Proven history of establishing and maintaining a progressive clinical pharmacy practice in area of specialty.
+ Experience in pharmacotherapy and/or pharmacy practice research, participation in scholarly activities including publication and scientific meeting presentations, and clinical teaching experience.
+ Demonstration of leadership and team building skills.
+ Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and database applications.

+ Project management and coordination skills.
+ Ability to communicate effectively, work collaboratively with others, and work independently with minimal supervision.
License and Certification
+ Current, active Board Certification through the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) in area of specialty or certification (EXCEPTION: Candidates with PGY2 training in area of specialty required to obtain board certification within 12 months of hire).
+ Eligible for licensure by the Florida Board of Pharmacy.
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 3 months of hire.
+ Academic Appointment within 18 months of hire.
