    Overview

     

    This is a newly created position at Gentiva Hospice designed to support regional operations. The **AVP of Clinical Education** will provide leadership for the **Frontier Region** .

     

    The **Associate Vice President of Clinical Education (AVPCE)** provides oversight and management of region’s Directors of Clinical Education (DCOE). The AVPCE will ensure the support and education on compliance, federal and state regulatory requirements to assigned branches is prioritized and scheduled to ensure survey readiness. Primary accountability is to ensure the delivery of consistent high-quality education to associates on regulatory requirements and related organizational policies and standard operating procedures to ensure survey success.

     

    Essential Functions of Position

     

    + Direct supervisor for DCOE including monitoring and directing all activities and work assignments in collaboration with Vice President of Clinical Operations and regional leadership

    + Coordinates with regional leadership, AVP of Education and Clinical Excellence, Director of Clinical Quality, Director of Continuous Improvements to promote consistency on education surrounding clinical quality and process improvement strategies

    + Ensures DCOEs:

    + execute on goals, objectives, standards, and policies/procedures to achieve high-quality care and improved patient outcomes in accordance with the organization’s strategic plan/goals

    + are first responders to external complaint surveys and assist with complaint handling and resolution

    + participate in the implementation of programs that promote clinical quality, and associate knowledge of policy and standard operating procedures to achieve survey readiness success

    + Creates a positive service excellence culture within region by setting expectations and accountability through effective clinical leadership

    + Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

     

    About You

    Specialized Knowledge/Skills:

    + Adheres to Organization’s Policy and Procedures and consistently promotes the company’s core values

    + Working knowledge of hospice regulatory requirements, state and federal regulations, budget development, and human resources

    + Ability to work with confidential information

    + Possesses effective follow-up and strategic thinking skills

    + Well organized, self-starter with a high degree of initiative, and ability to work independently as well as team build

    + Ability to communicate clearly with remote field, mid-level, and executive staff; communicates regularly with supervisor about Department issues

    + Exercises professional judgement and demonstrates good problem-resolution skills

    + Extremely comfortable working with multiple online and computer applications

    + Must be a collaborator who possesses effective people skills and maintains a positive and respectful attitude

    + Understand documentation required to support medical necessity of hospice care.

    + Flexible and responsive to changing business needs

    + Completes required annual training

    + Must have good and regular attendance

    + Extensive travel and frequent overnight travel

    Education/Experience:

    + Registered Nurse with preferably a Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent degree in clinical discipline or related field; Masters preferred

    + Minimum 3 - 6 years healthcare managerial experience

    + Experience participating in state surveys

    + Experience with Accreditation process (i.e., JCAHO, ACHC, CHAPS)

    License/Certification:

    + Valid driver’s license and automobile liability insurance coverage

    + Unencumbered and active RN license in state of residence required if RN

    Training/Equipment:

    + Intermediate Excel skills

    + Basic PowerPoint skills

    + Experience reviewing data in electronic systems

    + Experience with HomeCare-HomeBase preferred
