Full-Time Substance Abuse Clinician – Mobile Crisis Intervention (Evening Shift)

Contract Position | 13 Weeks | Temp-to-Perm Option Available
Amergis Healthcare Staffing is proud to partner with a respected behavioral health provider in Lowell, MA, currently seeking a full-time Substance Abuse Clinician to join their Mobile Crisis Intervention (MCI) team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community while gaining valuable experience in crisis response and substance use treatment.
Position Overview
As a Substance Abuse Clinician, you will provide comprehensive emergency mental health and substance use disorder services to individuals and families in crisis. Services may be delivered in the community (homes, schools, etc.) or at the Community Behavioral Health Center (CBHC) site. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring timely assessments, trauma-informed care, and continuity of services.
Schedule Options
Eves Shifts (40 hours/week):
+ Monday - Thursday | 1:00 PM – 11:00 PM
+ Weekend availability required
Start Date: ASAP – No more than 2 weeks from offer acceptance
Pay Rate: $45-$50/hr (unlicensed with Masters degree), $50-$55/hr (licensure)
Key Responsibilities
+ Conduct psychiatric and substance use evaluations in community and clinic settings
+ Perform bio/psycho/social assessments
+ Provide crisis intervention, case management, and short-term counseling
+ Maintain linkages with community services and assist clients in accessing support
+ Ensure trauma-informed care and safety
+ Mileage reimbursed for offsite travel (within 15 miles of Lowell)
Qualifications
+ Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field (required)
+ Strong clinical assessment skills
+ Experience with substance abuse and mental health issues (e.g., depression, anxiety, dissocial disorders)
+ Ability to multi-task and work with diverse populations
+ Preferred but not required: LCSW, LICSW, or LMHC licensure in Massachusetts
