Short Description
Executive Director GRRC will lead the team charged to create or secure the assessments, information and documentation required by ELC affiliates to secure and maintain (amend/renew) product notifications and registrations, including PIFs or Product Information Files meeting local and regional content and formatting requirements. The team is directly responsible for product regulatory assessments, label ingredient lists, global dossiers, PIFs and product amendments including, raw material changes, reformulations, Agility moves, market and material extensions (including excess inventory) and all related actives for all stages of a product life cycle against Global cosmetic regulations. The Executive Director will track, report and leverage agreed metrics to
improve functional capacity, capability, efficiency and throughput.
• Manage shifting team priorities, assign and track progress of projects and initiatives.
• Enable others to achieve project goals; provide direction and remove barriers.
• Provide cross-functional partners clarity on registration and regulatory requirements and timelines.
• Provide functional leadership for Agility, Reformulations and the Product Information Files.
• Prepare and communicate impact assessment of changes in regulation or interpretation to appropriate function(s).
• Act as a catalyst to share relevant information across functions and locations.
• Communicate with assigned brands to ensure accuracy and sufficiency of data and documentation.
• Build and leverage a cross-functional network throughout the company and across geographic boundaries to progress
corporate initiatives.
• Provide oversight and quality review of dossiers (data, documents, PIFs), identify opportunities for improvement.
• Assess functional capabilities vs requirements, develop staff to address current and emerging enterprise requirements.
• Develop and share and meaningful updates on registration KPIs with stakeholders
Long Description
The Executive Director Global Registration and Regulatory Compliance (GRRC) will lead a geographically dispersed team directly responsible for developing or securing and sharing all assessments, information and documentation needed by ELC affiliates to secure and maintain product registrations, as well as cross-functional stakeholders to drive compliance in support of program execution related to RAC assignment, regulatory reviews, and ingredient labels.
The ED will establish and maintain the cross functional processes, relationships, and communication channels that ensure timely product registration. The GRRC team will work with affiliate staff to ensure full and current knowledge of local requirements is shared with cross functional partners, Team responsibilities include development of strategies to bring new products and ingredients to market supporting both the initial regulatory submission and the ongoing maintenance and amendment of registrations required to maintain compliance (current global registration count is 735,000). The team will provide functional leadership for related activities including (at least) Product Information File (PIF), Agility moves, Business Continuity reformulations, raw material changes, Market and Material Extensions, and Excess Inventory moves.
The Executive Director will manage the functional transformation to brand orientation by establishing new functional relationships that benefit from the co-incidental global roll-out of a registration dossier management system which includes sharing and refining metrics at the brand, category and national level. The incumbent will work with peers and cross-functional partners to integrate this system with related modules, building speed and enhancing data integrity across the enterprise.
The Executive Director will identify data and system gaps and process inefficiencies and work with peers and leaders to address them in the short- and long-term, bringing requirements and recommendations forward and championing them to activation. The incumbent will assess the skills necessary to deliver against project objectives and create training and development plans to ensure the function has the skills necessary to deliver against corporate objectives.
Qualifications
+ Minimum Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts with focus on biology, chemistry, biochemistry or toxicology; Advanced degree in chemistry or life sciences is desirable
+ 7⁃10 years minimum experience
+ Less than 10% travel time
+ Required Language Proficiency: English (both written and verbal proficiency); Additional language(s) desirable
+ Demonstrated leadership in cross⁃functional and multi⁃cultural team dynamics
+ Excellent communication skills to manage business expectations vs. technical team deliverables
+ Meet tight deadlines while respecting the confidential and sensitive nature of mergers and acquisitions
+ Strategic process assessment, development/optimization
