    Job Description

    This individual will play a key role in building enterprise-grade AI applications at scale. The role combines backend engineering for LLM-powered systems with front-end development using Next.js and React. The engineer will collaborate with product managers, designers, and global engineering teams to deliver impactful solutions end-to-end, from designing APIs to creating polished user interfaces. This role will sit remotely in the United States, working EST hours.

    Day-to-Day Responsibilities

    Backend & AI Engineering

     

    -Design, build, and deploy LLM-powered services using Python, FastAPI/Flask, and microservices architectures.

     

    -Work with leading LLM providers and frameworks (OpenAI, Anthropic, LangChain, LlamaIndex).

     

    -Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems using vector databases and semantic search.

     

    -Design multi-agent and context-aware AI systems, including experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP).

     

    -Develop prompt strategies and orchestration for scalable AI use cases.

     

    -Own AI features end-to-end, ensuring robustness, security, and performance.

    Front-End Development

    -Build and maintain React-based applications using Next.js optimized for performance and SEO.

     

    -Implement SSR, SSG, and edge-rendered experiences.

     

    -Deploy and manage applications on Vercel using CI/CD pipelines and serverless functions.

     

    -Collaborate with designers to translate UI/UX into reusable components.

     

    -Integrate front-end applications with backend APIs (REST, GraphQL, Next.js API routes).

     

    -Ensure reliability through unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.

    Contract/Contract-to-Hire Roles:

    Compensation:

    $65/hr to $/hr.

     

    Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

    Employees in this role will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package starting on day one of

    Skills and Requirements

     

    Backend & AI

     

    -8+ years building backend services and APIs with Python.

     

    -2+ years developing and deploying LLM-based systems.

     

    -Strong experience with FastAPI or Flask, Docker, Kubernetes.

     

    -Hands-on with LLM APIs/frameworks (OpenAI, Anthropic, LangChain, LlamaIndex).

     

    -Knowledge of RAG architectures, vector databases, semantic search.

     

    -Experience shipping generative AI solutions to production at scale.

     

    Front-End

     

    -5+ years professional front-end development experience.

     

    -Strong hands-on experience with Next.js, React, and TypeScript.

     

    -Experience deploying and optimizing apps on Vercel.

     

    -Deep understanding of SSR, SSG, performance optimization, and SEO.

     

    -Proficiency with modern styling (Tailwind, CSS Modules, Styled Components).

     

    -Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, Playwright).

     

    -Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Vercel). -LLM guardrails, monitoring, and observability tooling.

     

    -Edge Functions and Vercel Analytics.

     

    -GraphQL (Apollo, Relay).

     

    -Internationalization (i18n) in Next.js.

     

    -Full-stack experience with Node.js, Express, relational/NoSQL databases.

     

    -Experience building AI solutions in large, business-critical applications.
