Summary
SRP is recruiting entry-level engineers for full time positions to begin a uniqueand fulfilling career as part of the Rotational Engineering Program. The Programexposes participants to a variety of departments and business activities within SRP. Seventy-plus departments participate in the Program, including Distribution Maintenance Engineering, Substation Design, Transmission Planning,Environmental Services, natural gas, coal and hydro generation plants, renewable andsustainability initiatives, Water Measurement Services, Water Engineering andGroundwater to name a few. This Program is a two-year program with fourRotations, of six months each, in participating departments. Engineering majors typically considered including electrical, mechanical, civil, and chemical.While on the Program, each Rotational Engineer will be assigned a mentor from SRP'sManagement team and in addition to daily activities, will participate in bi-monthlyactivities with other Rotational Engineers on the Program.
The Rotational Engineer position will begin in January 2027.
We will be accepting applications from January 19, 2026 - February 22nd, 2026.
What You'll Do
Following is a partial list of the types of responsibilities Rotational Engineers perform:
+ Learn about SRP businesses, projects, priorities, and strategy.
+ Learn to apply engineering skills to business challenges and innovations.
+ Read, update, and/or create engineering drawings.
+ Perform engineering design work and engineering studies.
+ Prepare specifications and evaluate bids.
+ Participate in, and possibly lead, engineering project work.
+ Prepare recommendation material for management consideration.
+ Administer and review work performed by consultants, vendors, and others.
+ Prepare and/or present written and oral reports and presentations.
+ Perform field engineering and office work.
+ Perform engineering and data analysis.
+ Design and/or code computer programs.
+ When required, travel to suppliers' facilities, industry organizational functions and SRP facilities.
What It Takes To Succeed
+ Curiosity and willingness to ask questions and provide input.
+ Project management within established budgets and timelines.
+ Productively interact with customers, suppliers, consultants, and outside agencies.
+ Some rotational assignments require periodic extended hours, and weekend/evening work.
+ Ability to work effectively with various organizational groups within SRP.
+ Ability to use engineering knowledge, skills, and tools required for the job (i.e., computer, test equipment, etc.).
+ Developing strong network connections across the organization and beyond.
Education
Completion of a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum, an International Engineering Alliance (IEA) recognized institution, ABET Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) or any state or internationally recognized PE registration.
Experience
Maximum of 2 years post-degree experience relevant to the position discipline (i.e. professional Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, etc., experience).
Testing and Certifications
Must possess the appropriate valid Arizona driver’s license.
Hybrid Workplace
RP currently offers a hybrid workplace, in teams whose daily work requirements allow, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available in some Rotational Engineer rotations, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
