Job Summary
The Assistant Volleyball Coach at the University of Michigan will work directly with the Head Coach to develop and maintain a competitive NCAA Division I volleyball program while upholding the university's commitment to academic and athletic excellence. And will assist with the day-to-day training and preparation of volleyball student-athletes and in the recruiting of prospective volleyball student-athletes. The Assistant Coach will prioritize the mental, physical and academic well-being of student-athletes in all team activities.
Responsibilities*
Essential Functions
+ Assist with on-court training and training planning.
+ Assist with all opponent scouting efforts, including film breakdown, opponent analytics, and scouting report preparations.
+ Assist with all operations, training plans, and logistics for camps and clinics.
+ Assist with recruiting efforts for prospective student-athletes, including both off campus and on campus recruiting.
+ Support student-athlete academic progress and promote academic excellence.
+ Maintain compliance with NCAA, Big Ten Conference, and University of Michigan regulations.

Required Qualifications*
+ Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university.
+ Thorough knowledge of NCAA rules and intercollegiate athletics.
+ Demonstrated success in recruiting and developing student-athletes
+ Excellence in technical volleyball instruction and player development
+ Must work with and communicate effectively with all team members and support staff within Michigan Athletics and the UM community.
+ Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Must possess excellent computer and technical skills.
+ Ability to travel on a regular basis for recruiting and team travel.
+ Organize recruiting visits and manages prospect communications.
+ Develop scouting reports and game plans using VolleyStation and VolleyMetrics.
Desired Qualifications*
+ Experience with specific volleyball software including, but not limited to: University Athlete, VolleyStation, and VolleyMetrics
Modes of Work
Onsite: The work requires, or the supervisor approves a fully onsite presence. Onsite is defined as a designated U-M owned or leased work location within or outside of the State of Michigan.
