    Role and Responsibilities:

    + Lead by example and champion our Values in Action.

    + Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.

    + Facilitates development, training, and certification activities for staff.

    + Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety policies, procedures and programs for food service, meat production, and retail environments.

    + Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments for all facilities and operations.

    + Monitor compliance with OSHA and other relevant regulatory agencies.

    + Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and partner with department leaders implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

    + Organize required training in all departments to increase safety awareness and adherence.

    + Coordinate and deliver safety training programs for all staff, including equipment safety, and emergency response.

    + Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, training, inspections, and regulatory compliance.

    + Collaborate with department heads to integrate safety best practices into daily operations.

    + In partnership with Facilities Manager and Human Resources, manage physical security of all locations including system maintenance.

    + Manage and update Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and ensure proper handling and storage of chemicals.

    + Serve as point for regulatory inspections and third-party audits.

    + Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

    Qualifications:

    + High school diploma or state issued equivalency certificate.

    + Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted.

    + Minimum of 2 years’ experience in safety within warehouse and /or production setting with proven increase of responsibility.

    + Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.

    + Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards preferred.

    + Demonstrated ability to conduct audits, inspections, and training.

    + Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

    + Ability to analyze complex problems and implement effective solutions.

    + Professional certifications (e.g., CSP, OSHA 30-hour) preferred.

    + Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management systems.

     

    Salary Range

     

    + $70,000- $95,000 a year

    Physical Demands:

    The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by a Safety Manager to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

     

    + Ability to travel between company locations as needed.

    + Capable of standing, walking, and moving throughout production and retail facilities for extended periods.

    + Ability to work in a cold environment for extended periods with temperatures reaching -10.

    + Occasional lifting or carrying of materials up to 25 lbs.
