Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Project Specialist to work on our Reactor Project Execution team. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out REC Facility in Idaho Falls, Idaho with every other Friday off.

As a Project Specialist, you will provide oversight of all project controls for the department. You will ensure that proper project controls techniques are utilized in all projects in the Reactor Project Execution Department, observing the direction from the project managers and the business execution program manager.

You will work closely with the project schedulers, PFCs, PCAs, and project managers to ensure the schedule, budget, and costs are managed. You will also work closely with the department business execution program manager to ensure that all projects in the department are managed following department guidelines for all aspects of a project, including scope, schedule, cost, milestones, and resources.

*Responsibilities Include:*

* Essure technical, schedule, and budget baselines are controlled throughout each phase of a project.

* Provide support to projects by addressing ongoing equipment and staff logistical needs.

* Manage the delivery of support services products and services to customers in accordance with individual program, project, and laboratory requirements.

* Coordinate task activities and ensure all phases of the task(s) are documented appropriately.

* Responsible for effective and efficient management and administration of project tasks.

* Coordinate asset management, program logistics, procurement activities, supporting customers with system needs and questions, process documentation, requirements gathering and administrative support.

* Develop and standardize processes to address project needs including ordering, purchasing, receiving, tracking, deployment and organizing equipment and software for appropriate projects.

* Identify, promote, and develop plans for new project opportunities, and recommend best business practices.

* Originate documents such as execution plans, project plans, and operations guidelines.

* Interface with customers to identify common needs (including account support and administration) and develop standardized approaches to ensure a high quality of delivery.

* Develop processes and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to support team members with onboarding/offboarding process including the issuance and tracking of equipment and gathering requirements

* from customers and produce needed process documentation.

* Track team activities and access lists.

* Coordinate internal/external activities in support of project and customer requirements.

* Participate in process improvements and use innovative approaches to develop solutions to problems within established policy.

* Assist in the performance of self-assessments, surveillance appraisals, and audits.

* Correct identified noncompliance findings and observations.

* Prepare and submit reports and papers as requested and required.

* May collaborate and provide input for the organization on matters pertaining to its policies, plans, and objectives related to functional area of responsibility when assigned by manager.

* Mentor other staff and/or subcontractors and train as backup for key functions.

* Other duties as assigned.

*Minimum Requirements: *

Level 3:

* Bachelors in relevant field from an accredited institution and 5 years of related experience. OR

* Master’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution and 2 years of related experience. OR

* PhD from relevant field and 2 years of related experience.

Level 4:

* Bachelor’s and 9 years of related experience OR

* Master’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution and 6 years of related experience OR

* PhD degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution and 4 years of related experience.

Relevant Degree refers to a degree in:

Construction Management, Programming, Project Management, Management, Engineering, Project Engineering, or another closely related discipline.

Related Experience refers to professional experience that directly aligns with the responsibilities and requirements of the position.

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

*Job Information: *

* The pay range for this position is: Level 3 ($66,504 - $136,356) / Level 4 ($79,344 - $162,732). At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.

* TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.

* Multi-Level: This is a multi-level posting and you will be placed at the appropriate level dependent on depth and breadth of proven experience and skills.

While performing the duties of this classification, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel,

bend and work in an office and field/laboratory environment. The job requires hand/finger dexterity to keyboard or type,

handle materials, manipulate tools, and reach with hands and arms. The job requires operation of job-related equipment

and driving a vehicle. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds without assistance. Sufficient
