As a Telecommunications Engineer II, you will provide engineering of enterprise-wide telecommunication systems to include evaluation, design, provisioning, and implementation of appropriate technology solutions and services within the Cleveland Clinic enterprise. In this role, you will serve as an architect for new telephony systems and buildout constructs, ensure system performance, availability, and reliability of deployed technology / services delivered to clients. A caregiver in this position serves as an escalation point on complex technical problems and support issues providing problem diagnostic and consulting services, providing analytical, project management, and technical support with emphasis on voice switching and transmission facilities.
A caregiver in this position works remotely out of Ohio, Florida, or Nevada, 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday, on-call as needed.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
+ Provide evaluation, engineering, standards compliance, provisioning, install planning, and implementation of projects (e.g. new site, build-out activities as well as system upgrades) and/or operational practices. Interprets business needs and matches them to appropriate telecom equipment and/or applications while providing effective and economical solutions to telecom business requirements (as constrained by governing budgets).
+ Provide project budgeting estimates to include scope of work and contract reviews and recommendations.
+ Communicate production requirements for on-going maintenance and support.
+ Provide design requirements and configuration of new and/or upgraded telecommunications hardware and software.
+ Coordinate the installation of hardware, Operating System, applications software, and peripherals as required.
+ Develop and communicates technical environmental requirements related to physical space, system security, power, HVAC, etc.
+ Participate in project and change control meetings concerning the physical placement and installation of telecommunication solutions.
+ Use a standard Project Book to document all related activities.
+ Provide for the design, planning and scheduling of integrating additional hardware, OS upgrades, or other enhancements into production systems as required to sustain a supportable product.
+ Provide project implementation schedules and monitors activities and escalates issues within the vendor support channel and/or senior management as necessary.
+ Create documentation as needed in the support of production turn over needs, on going maintenance, and usage of voice service equipment.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Services and/or Telecommunications, or a minimum 10 years equivalent experience.
+ Minimum of 10 years related experience in information systems environment to include at least 5 years of extensive hands-on support of a large multi-service environment is required.
+ Experience with large scale VoIP enabled PBX products that support over 1000 stations. Examples include Cisco, Avaya, or NEC PBXs.
+ For Information Technology Division caregivers, ITIL Foundations certification is required within 6 months of position start date.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ 10+ years Telecom experience in a large, complex 24x7 environment
+ Proficiency with Avaya Call Manager, System Manager and Session Manager
+ Proficiency with Esna Officelinx/Avaya IX Messaging
+ Proficiency collecting and analyzing complex SIP traces
+ Proven ability to manage upgrades of large Avaya CM systems in a hospital environment
+ Proficiency with Windows Server OS
+ Proficiency with Linux
+ Familiarity with VMware
+ Proficiency with Avaya CS1000 is preferable
+ Exposure to Cisco UCM is preferable
Physical Requirements:
+ Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.
+ Ability to travel throughout the hospital system.
+ Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.
+ Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
Personal Protective Equipment:
+ Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range
Minimum Annual Salary: $84,200.00
Maximum Annual Salary: $128,412.50
The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.).
