    Job Purpose: The New World Screwworm (NWS) Base Manager reports to the Operation Program Manager and is responsible for the oversight and direction of all maintenance and operations associated with the NWS Sterile Insect Technique (SIT) contract. This includes developing and maintaining excellent customer relations; managing all associated permanent and temporary company resources and personnel; effectively ensuring aircraft, equipment, and personnel comply with all applicable laws, standards, and policies; and ensuring key performance indicators (KPIs) are met and improvement initiatives are pursued and achieved.

    Job duties include:

    + Establish and maintain excellent communications with customers, including scheduling and conducting maintenance, clearly communicating the operational processes, capabilities, and constraints

    + Manage & perform all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on assigned aircraft assuring aircraft is available for customer flight missions on an ongoing basis

    + Ensure dispatch reliability for all departing flights

    + Maintain interior/exterior appearance of the aircraft to meet Dynamic standards

    + Responsible to the Operations Program Manager, for all activities at the base

    + Manage personnel performing both flight and technical operations

    + Manage personnel schedule to ensure consistent operations

    + Ensure personnel are following policies and procedures and performing duties consistent with the company GOM, GMM, FAA regulations, and company policies

    + Ensure base needs are communicated to the OPM, including hiring needs, tooling, training, materials pertinent to operations, etc.

    + Collaborate with organizational leaders to set department strategic goals, develop action plans, monitor progress, and adjust plans as needed to achieve set financial and operational goals

    + Lead and direct assigned personnel in a way that fosters a collaborative and productive environment by garnering input; conducting informal and formal performance reviews and feedback; and identifying and facilitating or scheduling required training or professional development opportunities

    + Track assigned performance metrics and KPIs to analyze data, identify root causes and trends, and recommend improvements

    + Analyze current operational processes to identify and implement improvement initiatives and monitor for and adjust as required

    + Coordinate and collaborate with HR in hiring, scheduling, correcting, and terminating crews/personnel to ensure staffing meets customer needs and supports project activity

    + Accurately perform administrative tasks associated with payroll, timekeeping, travel, etc.

    + Anticipate and identify potential hazards and risks and develop and implement appropriate mitigation strategies, policies, and procedures

    + Address and resolve any conflicts internal to the team or with support agencies, and (as needed) mediate disputes, provide support, and implement strategies to prevent or mitigate future conflicts

    + Other duties as assigned

    Qualified applicants will:

    + Work smoothly within a multi-faceted team and with a diverse set of customers

    + Be able to build and develop positive professional relationships with customers and stakeholders

    + Have basic computer and data entry skills with a eye for detail.

    + Be willing and able to work overnight shifts, weekends and holidays as needed and be available to the operation 24/7 as needed

    + Have prior aviation operational management experience

    + Have prior experience crossing cultural boundaries and foreign language barriers

    + Have a valid FAA A&P license and/or a valid FAA Commercial / Instrument / Multi-Engine license

    If a pilot, in addition to above :

    + FAA Commercial / Instrument / Multi-Engine license

    + A minimum of 1500 hours total flight time

    + A minimum of 500 hours PIC in an airplane

    + 50 hours PIC instrument (simulated or in flight) preferred

    + 50 hours PIC ME fixed wing in the last 12 months preferred

    + 100 hours total time in Beechcraft King Air preferred

    + 100 hours turbine time preferred

    + Ability to qualify as a single pilot captain

    + Possess at least a 2nd class medical

    + Maintain professional currency

    If a mechanic:

    + FAA A&P License Required

    + FAA Inspection Authorization (IA), or ability to obtain within 6 months.

    + A minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience

By doing so, you uphold the integrity of our operations and foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
