Civil Engineer

Schedule: 8:30 AM–5:30 PM, 1‑hour lunch

Work Type: (Onsite/Hybrid/Remote as desired)

We are seeking a skilled Civil Engineer to support land development, residential, and site civil design projects from concept through construction. This role involves preparing comprehensive design plans, performing stormwater analysis, coordinating permitting activities, and producing detailed engineering documents in compliance with NY State and NYC standards.

Key Responsibilities

+ Support land development, residential, and site civil design projects from early concept through construction

+ Prepare design plans including site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, stormwater systems, and erosion & sediment control

+ Perform stormwater management analysis and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling compliant with NYSDEC and NYCDEP standards

+ Develop erosion and sediment control plans, prepare permit packages, and coordinate with regulatory agencies

+ Produce engineering drawings and construction documents using AutoCAD and Civil 3D

+ Conduct site visits and field assessments; collaborate with contractors, architects, and project stakeholders

+ Prepare engineering reports, technical analyses, specifications, and cost estimates

+ Ensure adherence to NY State and NYC regulations, codes, and permitting requirements

Essential Skills

+ 4+ years of experience in land development and site civil design

+ Strong background in grading, drainage, stormwater management, and erosion/sedimentation control

+ Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D

+ Experience working on NY State and NYC projects

Additional Qualifications

+ Familiarity with both NY State and NYC regulatory environments

Work Environment

A fast‑paced, collaborative engineering environment within a woman‑owned, multidisciplinary civil engineering and consulting firm. The team consists of approximately 30 professionals, primarily engineers, dedicated to delivering high‑quality land development and regulatory approval services. Occasional field visits and stakeholder collaboration are integral to this role.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Holtsville, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $53.00 - $68.00/hr.
