    We are seeking a Safety Specialist to support general industry and construction safety projects on a part-time, on-call basis in Wilson, North Carolina, or the Greater Raleigh area. This role is perfect for a motivated safety professional who is looking for flexible work with the potential opportunity to transition into a full-time, permanent position based on performance, business needs, and mutual interest. The ideal candidate will be dependable, self-driven, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively with experienced safety professionals.

    Responsibilities

    + Provide on-site and off-site general safety and OSHA compliance support for construction and general industry clients.

    + Conduct safety inspections, jobsite audits, and hazard assessments.

    + Assist clients with implementation and compliance related to OSHA programs.

    + Develop and deliver safety training programs, toolbox talks, and conduct incident investigations.

    + Prepare written reports, findings, and recommendations for clients.

    + Maintain effective communication with clients and internal project team members.

    + Support project managers as needed on assigned projects.

    + Perform all work in accordance with policies, procedures, and applicable safety regulations.

    + Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, industrial safety, construction safety, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

    + Working knowledge of OSHA regulations applicable to general industry and construction.

    + Experience in manufacturing and/or construction safety environments.

    + Ability to travel to client sites on an as-needed basis.

    + Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    + Excellent attention to detail and observational skills.

    + Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

    + Flexible availability to support projects on an on-call basis.

    + Highly motivated and committed to producing high-quality work.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Professional certification (e.g., CSP, CHST, ASP) preferred.

    + Knowledge of hazard communication, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, fall protection, confined spaces, and job safety analyses (JSAs).

    Work Environment

    This role involves working on-site at construction and manufacturing settings, specifically at Collins Aerospace. The environment requires adherence to safety regulations and policies.

    This is a Contract position based out of Wilson, NC.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
