    Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

    Job Description

    The Lead Manufacturing Engineer will oversee the transition from prototype to full-rate production for a new hardware line. This role is responsible for designing and validating manufacturing processes, integrating quality standards, and ensuring production readiness across both legacy and new product lines.

    Responsibilities

    + Develop and implement manufacturing processes, work instructions, and test automation equipment (including the design).

    + Ensure compliance with industry standards, including AS9100D, FAA, and DoD regulations.

    + Lead production readiness, validation, and process improvement initiatives.

    + Collaborate with engineering, quality, and supplier teams.

    + Drive lean manufacturing and Six Sigma practices.

    Essential Skills

    + BS in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing or Aerospace Engineering.

    + 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or testing, ideally within aerospace or regulated industries.

    + Strong communication and teamwork skills.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Experience with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.

    + Scripting experience, preferably in Python or with programmable logic controllers (PLC).

    + Hands-on experience in building or troubleshooting, with a tinkering mindset.

    + Ability to manage and communicate with customers regarding technical manufacturing topics.

    + Flexibility to work adaptable hours and adjust to changing project needs.

    + Experience in supplier selection, audits, and ensuring supplier quality.

    + Background in other regulated industries such as medical device (ISO) or automotive (TS) manufacturing is valued.

    + Quick learning ability to rapidly adapt to new products and processes.

    Work Environment

    The position is based onsite full-time in White Salmon, WA, located across the river from Hood River, OR. The role follows a 9/80 schedule, offering every other Friday off. The work environment is fast-paced and offers the opportunity to build and optimize a new aerospace production line from the ground up. This role is ideal for creative problem-solvers who enjoy hands-on improvements and making a real impact.

     

    Work will be done daily onsite, and thus being local to the Columbia Gorge area is critical; talent from the Portland Metro area will be considered.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of White Salmon, WA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $67.00/hr.
