    Job Title: Assistant Scientist

    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Scientist to carry out experimental work and aid in designing innovative food products for food applications. This role will involve developing new product applications, conducting lab experiments to support product development, and improving customer formulations.

    Responsibilities

    + Conduct experimental work at the bench.

    + Aid in designing new blended products for food applications.

    + Develop new food-based applications.

    + Conduct lab experiments to support new product development and enhance customer formulations.

    + Assist in creating at least two new innovative product applications per year.

    + Provide scientific data for webinars, technical documents, and marketing materials.

    + Help design and test new products from concept through commercialization.

    + Support customer needs by responding to technical requests and participating in pilot trials.

    + Maintain lab equipment.

    + Document findings in a lab notebook and present results.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor's degree in Food Science.

    + Knowledge in food science, biochemistry, and chemistry.

    + Research and development experience.

    + Lab experience from academic settings.

    + Proficiency in assay techniques.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Experience with instrumental assays such as gas chromatography (GC), high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), and spectrophotometry is preferred.

    + Dairy protein knowledge is a plus.

     

    Work Environment

     

    The role is based in an R&D lab, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carpentersville, IL.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $30.77 - $30.77/hr.
