    Job Title: Electrical Engineering Technologist

    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated Electrical Engineering Technologist to support electronic and mechanical assembly processes. This role involves developing, qualifying, and documenting assembly steps and manufacturing processes, while collaborating with internal and external teams to ensure reliable and cost-effective designs.

    Responsibilities

    + Support all aspects of electronic and mechanical assembly, including surface mount technology (SMT), through-hole assembly, convection reflow, hardware installation, cleaning, conformal coating, potting, and box build.

    + Resolve manufacturing and process issues.

    + Develop, qualify, and document assembly steps and manufacturing processes to fit product requirements.

    + Review and update incoming client documentation.

    + Collaborate with NPI groups to develop reliable, cost-effective hardware and electromechanical assemblies.

    + Support supply chain with analysis of alternate electrical components and commodity management.

    + Identify, design, procure, and validate fixtures and tools, and support factory equipment selection to meet production plans.

    + Initiate and complete technical projects leading to new or improved products or processes.

    + Perform process capability assessments and establish methods to control process output.

    + Develop, verify, and validate products from process development to successful commercialization.

    + Train and provide work direction to operators and technicians.

    + Research and recommend new technologies to improve reliability, efficiency, and reduce costs.

    + Communicate business and technical needs, status, results, and observations to technical and business teams.

    + Maintain current process documentation including Work Instructions, Standard Work documents, PFMEA, and Control Plans.

    + Participate in and coordinate 5S initiatives, Lean Manufacturing, Problem-Solving, and other improvement activities.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 3-5 years of experience preferred.

    + Ability to organize and prioritize work based on business needs.

    + Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.

    + Knowledge and experience with Lean Manufacturing.

    + Ability to interpret and create/update electronic schematics, assembly, and fabrication drawings.

    + Basic working knowledge of CAD software.

    + Basic working knowledge of printed circuit board manufacturing including gerber files and CAM software.

    Work Environment

    The candidate will work onsite, spending approximately 60% of the time on the production floor and 40% in the office. Typical working hours are around 7-4pm or 8-5pm with flexibility in start and end times. Experience the small company feel within a larger organization, working on diverse projects and products for a variety of customers.

    This is a Permanent position based out of Lenexa, KS.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
