    Job Title: Mechanical Cost Estimator

    Job Description

    We are seeking a highly experienced Mechanical Cost Estimator with over 10 years of cost management and estimating experience on medium to large-scale construction projects, specifically in the MEP trades. The ideal candidate should possess a deep understanding of the Mechanical trade, with a working knowledge of the Electrical trade being advantageous, though not mandatory.

    Responsibilities

    + Manage and estimate costs for medium to large-scale construction projects.

    + Develop detailed cost estimates for mechanical construction projects.

    + Provide consulting or owner's representative experience to oversee project costs.

    + Prepare comprehensive business documents including reports, detailed letters, and emails.

    + Collaborate effectively in a team setting with minimal supervision.

    + Utilize proprietary government estimating software such as MII, SUCCESS, CostWorks, and PACES.

    + Maintain attention to detail and uphold a high standard of work quality.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor's or higher degree in a construction-related discipline or equivalent field experience.

    + Over 10 years of experience in cost management/estimating.

    + Strong understanding of mechanical construction and cost estimation processes.

    + Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

    + Excellent communication and organizational skills.

    + Ability to plan effectively, manage time, and solve problems independently.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Experience with estimating software including BlueBeam, OST, and Second Generation MCASES (MII), PACES, and CostWorks.

    + Consulting experience is a significant advantage.

    + Capacity to work independently and obtain necessary security clearance.

    Work Environment

    The work environment is dynamic and collaborative, focused on delivering high-quality service. The role involves working on projects primarily within federal contracts, and offers opportunities to contribute to a reputable and growing construction cost and project management consulting firm. Training on specific estimating software will be provided as needed.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Alexandria, VA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $130000.00/hr.
