    Job Title: Material Technician

    Job Description

    + Join our team in providing critical materials testing and observation services for projects involving roadways, bridges, airports, and large commercial developments.

    + You will perform field and laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform testing, observation, and inspection as directed in accordance with training and specified procedures.

    + Provide clear documentation of findings and results.

    + Conduct basic analysis of data to verify accuracy before communication and submittal to the Project Manager.

    + Communicate information to Project Manager and other personnel as directed.

    + Maintain equipment and calibration.

    + Train lower-level technicians depending on experience level.

    Essential Skills

    + 1-2 years of relevant field experience in construction.

    + Desire to stay in the field and work hands-on.

    + Ability to obtain OSHA 10 and 40 certifications.

    + Valid driver's license.

    + Experience with laptop computer use and Microsoft Word and Excel.

    + Experience in concrete, materials testing, and construction inspection.

    + Strong personality and ability to handle responsibility.

    + ACI certification and knowledge of nuclear density gauge operations.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Experience working around technicians or with earthwork, utility contractors.

    + Ability to read and understand geotechnical reports.

    + Assist with scheduling and dispatch of technicians to project sites.

    + Adhere to strict safety standards.

    + Drive a vehicle such as a Ford F-150 or equivalent.

    + This is a field-based role within a team of 8 technicians.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Buffalo, NY.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
