    Description

    Wiginton Fire Systems is currently seeking an Associate Designer to join their growing team in. An associate Designer is responsible to produce design related documents to ensure the scope of the fire protection system is fully communicated to the installation personnel at the assigned job site.

     

    This is an entry level position. During the first 6 months of training, this person will shadow other designers, learn the software, and perform CAD work with oversite. During the training period, they will also participate field surveys and visit job sites, in order to understand the field work behind the drawings.

    Duties include:

    • Review contract documents prior to Pre-Design Meeting and establish questions for clarification.

    • Participate in Pre-Design to provide input for job planning.

    • Establish, communicate and meet working drawing completion dates to adhere to fabrication schedule.

    • Prepare detailed working drawings in accordance with contract documents/scope of work. Obtain necessary design reviews from sales and management during design process.

    • Perform necessary communication and coordination with other trades to ensure accuracy of shop drawings.

    • Prepare anticipated material list to allow adequate procurement time.

    • Develop design schedule within the project schedule; to take advantage of overall windows of opportunity.

    • Prepare material submittals and secure approvals form required authorities.

    • Prepare drawing submittals and secure permits and approvals from the required authorities.

    • Participate in Pre-Construction Meetings.

    • Monitor and manage the flow and cost of materials as necessary to maintain project schedule and budget.

    • Prepare and provide “as built” plans and design related close-out documents, as required by the contract documents.

    • Maintain compliance with all company and state/federal safety standards, regulations, equipment's, and procedures.

    • Properly maintain all; company tools, equipment and immediately refer any problems to Design Manager.

    • Participate in a minimum of 8 hours of continuing education per year.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
