Job Title: Machinist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to perform various operations in both prototype and production settings. The role involves working with profile gear grinding, CNC gear hobbing, 4-axis CNC milling, high-production CNC turning, gear and sprocket shaping, laser cutting, induction heat treatment, broaching and keyseating, automated welding, and complex assembly tasks.

Responsibilities

+ Conduct profile gear grinding operations.

+ Operate CNC gear hobbing machinery.

+ Perform 4-axis CNC milling tasks.

+ Engage in high-production CNC turning.

+ Shape gears and sprockets effectively.

+ Utilize laser cutting technology.

+ Implement induction heat treatment processes.

+ Execute broaching and keyseating operations.

+ Participate in automated welding procedures.

+ Assemble complex components efficiently.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics.

+ Experience with machining processes including mill and lathe operations.

+ Familiarity with drill press usage.

+ Basic programming skills for machining applications.

Work Environment

Experience a very relaxed work environment that is clean, temperature-controlled, and not overly noisy. The position is for the 2nd shift from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, with initial training conducted during the 1st shift.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jackson, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00/hr.
