Schedule:

Monday–Friday | 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM

Starting Pay:

$18/hour, based on experience

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

+ Perform quantitative and qualitative medical record reviews

+ Communicate with physicians regarding incomplete medical records and follow up to ensure timely completion in accordance with regulatory standards

+ Accurately scan and index records according to policy

+ Communicate effectively with hospital leaders, physicians, and clinicians to ensure proper record maintenance and timely resolution of issues

+ Process release of information requests in compliance with departmental, state, and federal requirements

+ Abstract clinical and quality data from medical records for internal and external reporting needs

+ Assist leadership with timely data collection and submission, including CMS reporting requirements

+ Maintain patient confidentiality at all times

+ Meet annual goals and complete other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

+ High school diploma

+ Two (2) years of experience in a Health Information department within a healthcare facility

+ Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize

+ Demonstrated problem‑solving skills, urgency, and respect for confidentiality

+ Experience with Epic or other EMRs and database systems

+ Ability to communicate professionally with hospital staff, clinicians, and external partners

+ Customer‑service mindset with a collaborative approach

+ Ability to adapt to changing workload and workflow demands

+ Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications

+ Associate’s degree in Health Information Technology or related healthcare field

+ RHIT or RHIA certification

+ Working knowledge of HIPAA and Joint Commission standards
