Job Title: CNC Lathe Machinist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Operator who will be responsible for setting up and operating multiple 2-axis CNC lathe machines to manufacture fittings and other components for the aerospace and defense industry. The candidate will also perform first article inspections on their own parts to ensure precision and quality.

Responsibilities

+ Set up and operate multiple 2-axis CNC lathe machines with turning capability.

+ Manufacture components with tolerances of +/- 5/1000 using materials such as Titanium, Stainless Steel, and minimal exotics like Aluminum.

+ Perform first article inspections on self-manufactured parts to ensure adherence to quality standards.

+ Utilize precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.

+ Read and interpret blueprints to execute machining tasks accurately.

+ Perform program edits and basic programming using G code and Fanuc controls.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in setting up and operating CNC Swiss machines and CNC lathes.

+ 6 Months - 1 Year of Lathe Experience (School or Work Experience)

+ Experience with precision measuring tools and first article inspections.

+ Knowledge of blueprint reading and interpretation.

+ Ability to perform program edits and basic programming.

+ Experience in the aerospace industry is highly preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in Swiss machining is a plus.

+ Ability to work with a variety of materials including Titanium and Stainless Steel.

+ Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Work Environment

Work in a newly acquired machine shop facility, offering a spacious and growth-oriented environment. Join a team of 55 employees with shifts available from 7:00am to 3:30pm for the 1st shift and 3:30pm to 12:00am for the 2nd shift. You will be one of only four employees with the ability to perform machine setups, in a shop equipped with 52 CNC machines including 2-axis turning lathes with some milling capability.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Valencia, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
