About the Role
We’re looking for a talented **Manual Machinist** to join our tight‑knit, six‑person team. In this role, you’ll take ownership of precision layouts, setups, and machining using conventional equipment. You’ll work from complex technical drawings—including GD&T—and engineer setup methods for specialized, one‑off, or first‑time projects.
This position is perfect for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship, enjoys solving technical challenges, and wants to contribute to both mentoring and continuous improvement efforts across the shop.
Key Responsibilities
+ Perform precision layouts and operate conventional machine tools with accuracy and consistency
+ Read and interpret complex blueprints, including GD&T
+ Develop setup methods for custom, prototype, or challenging machining projects
+ Train and mentor team members on proper machining techniques
+ Identify and implement opportunities to enhance quality, efficiency, and shop processes
Essential Skills & Experience
+ Hands‑on experience with Manual Mill, Lathe, and combination Mill/Lathe operations
+ Ability to operate a Horizontal Boring Mill
+ Strong blueprint interpretation and manual machining expertise
+ Proficiency with precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, grinders)
+ Completion of a machinist apprenticeship or equivalent training
+ Demonstrated ability to hold tight tolerances and inspect finished components
+ Experience setting up and operating equipment such as:
+ ID/OD Grinders
+ Engine Lathe
+ Horizontal & Vertical Boring Mills
+ Radial Drill
+ Planer Mill
+ Minimum of 4 years of machine shop experience
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience running a Planer Mill
+ Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team‑focused mindset
+ Willingness to work overtime based on workload needs

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
