Firewatch Technician (Secret Security Clearance Required)

**Location:** Silverdale, WA

Pay:** **$24–$25 per hour

Contract Length:** Through **September 2026

**We’re hiring Firewatch Technicians** to support shipyard operations on a long‑term Navy submarine program in Silverdale, WA. This role is critical to maintaining a safe environment during hot‑work activities across vessels, dry docks, and various shipyard locations.

Position Overview

As a Firewatch Technician, you will closely monitor hot‑work operations—including welding, cutting, and grinding—to prevent fire hazards and ensure safety compliance. You’ll work alongside skilled trades and shipyard personnel in a fast‑paced marine environment where safety is the top priority.

•Key Responsibilities

+ Actively monitor hot‑work activities to identify and report fire risks

+ Maintain a safe workspace aboard vessels, dry docks, and throughout the shipyard

+ Serve as the first line of prevention during cutting, welding, grinding, and heat‑producing tasks

+ Enforce and support all safety procedures and emergency protocols

+ Communicate hazards clearly and immediately to appropriate personnel

Required Skills & Experience

+ Proven experience as a Firewatch or in hot‑work monitoring

+ Shipyard labor, marine maintenance, or industrial repair

+ Working knowledge of basic marine systems, mechanical components, engines, motors, and troubleshooting

+ **Active Secret Security Clearance (must already possess)**

Preferred Qualifications

+ Hands‑on experience with valve repair

+ Strong mechanical aptitude specific to ship repair or maritime operations

Work Environment
