    Job Title: MIG Welder - Structural Steel

    **2nd shift:** 3pm - 12am/1am (Overtime available on front end of shift and Saturdays. Overtime is currently optional)

    **Pay Range:** $25-30/hr plus $2/hr shift differential

    Job Description

    Join our team as a MIG Welder where your primary responsibility will be to perform duties related to all elements of steel fabrication welding. This role involves welding processes in a shop setting, focusing on structural steel projects for both local and out-of-state customers.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform welding operations adhering to welding standards such as FCAW.

    + Operate metal fabrication equipment including saws, drills, and grinders.

    + Set up welding machines for various job requirements.

    + Read and understand welding symbols on plans and drawings.

    + Grind and perform various joint preparations.

    + Sequence welds to prevent distortion of material.

    Essential Skills

    + 5 or more years of experience in welding, preferably in structural steel.

    + Competence in MIG welding, especially in vertical and overhead positions.

    + Experience with Carbon steel and some stainless.

    + Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and welding symbols.

    + Proficiency in using measuring tools and blueprints.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Proper rigging techniques.

    + Technical skills in the welding trade.

    + Certification in several welding processes including FCAW preferred.

    + Knowledge of structural steel shapes, sizes, and grades.

    + Ability to communicate detailed information effectively.

    Work Environment

     

    Work primarily takes place in a warehouse environment with varying year-round temperatures. Activities may require the use of arms and legs, including climbing ladders/scaffolding, lifting & handling materials, walking & balancing, and stooping. The role includes a shift from 3pm to 12am/1am, with optional overtime available.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lancaster, PA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
