    Job Title: Driver** **Job Description

     

    We are seeking a dedicated and responsible driver to operate trucks, ensuring compliance with state regulations and ensuring the safe and timely delivery of products. You will be responsible for vehicle inspections, load securing, and maintaining accurate logs in adherence to state and federal regulations.

    Responsibilities

    + Drive trucks to weigh stations before and after loading and along routes to document weights and to comply with state regulations.

    + Ensure vehicle is properly loaded, load secured, and product delivered safely and timely.

    + Inspect vehicle(s) for safety or operational defects using DOT, maintenance, and safety checklists, ensuring emergency equipment is in proper working order.

    + Inventory and inspect goods to determine quantities and conditions.

    + Perform loading tasks, including securing chains across trailer width, tarping loads, and dropping and hooking trailers.

    + Maintain logs of working hours, vehicle service, or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations.

    + Work a 12-hour shift, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.

    + Perform daily Pre-Trip, Inter-Trip, and Post Trip Inspections.

    + Deliver products to customers, contractors, and job sites throughout the geographic region.

    + Set up a sideboard kit around the perimeter of the trailer floor.

    Essential Skills

    + Driving, Box truck handling.

    + Loading and unloading expertise.

    + Knowledge of DOT regulations/requirements.

    + Effective listening and verbal communication skills.

    + Ability to lift up to 65 lbs.

    + Valid Class A Commercial Driver License with no restrictions.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Must be at least 21 years of age.

    + No DUI or DWI within the last 5 years.

    + No more than 1 moving violation in the previous 3 years.

    + No on-road preventable accidents in the past 3 years.

    + Pass a company road test, D.O.T. and company drug testing programs, and physicals.

    + Ability to work outside under all weather conditions.

    + Willingness to learn and tackle new challenges.

    + Proficiency in English for verbal and written communication.

    Work Environment

    Work involves frequent physical activity such as walking, climbing stairs and ladders, working with chains, and performing inspections. You will be required to work outside in various weather conditions, including both heat and cold. The role requires a 12-hour shift, which includes overtime, weekends, and holidays.

    This is a Contract position based out of Apopka, FL.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
