Job Title: Installation Technician

Job Description

This position involves the layout, wiring, and mounting of hydraulics, electronics, and PTOs on custom truck bodies. The role requires setting up and operating machines that cut, bend, saw, and punch steel into custom parts for body mounting. An ability to use overhead chain hoists, forklifts, handcarts, and various hand and power tools is essential.

Responsibilities

+ Layout, wire, and mount hydraulics, electronics, and PTOs on custom truck bodies.

+ Set up and operate machines to cut, bend, saw, and punch steel into custom parts.

+ Utilize overhead chain hoists, forklifts, and handcarts for moving parts and equipment.

+ Perform mechanical and electrical assembly using hand and power tools.

+ Read and interpret work orders and blueprints accurately.

+ Troubleshoot and solve problems related to installation and assembly.

Essential Skills

+ Mechanical assembly and wiring experience.

+ Understanding of hydraulics, PTOs, frames, pumps, electrical controls, and wiring.

+ Ability to read blueprints and work orders.

+ Proficiency with power and hand tools.

+ Basic math skills for machine setup and operation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Six months of experience in heavy installation, preferably on vehicles.

+ Experience with hand plasma and wire feed welding is preferred.

+ Ability to read and use measuring devices such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.

+ Physical ability to lift, push, and move objects up to 50 lbs.

+ Capability to bend, twist, carry, work overhead, kneel, crouch, and climb.

Work Environment

The role is based on a large open factory/plant floor with dim lighting due to welding stations. The environment includes large overhead cranes and offers good ventilation. Expect exposure to grease, oil, heat, humidity, cramped quarters, and wet conditions. Physical activities may include climbing ladders and using creepers under chassis. Steel-toed shoes are required as you stand on a concrete floor throughout the shift.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of LAKE CRYSTAL, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
