Summary Statement
The Airport Intern supports an airport department while gaining real-world experience in the fast-paced aviation environment. This internship offers a unique opportunity to learn how a major commercial airport operates while contributing to meaningful, hands-on projects - especially those focused on the airfield.
Interns will have the chance to learn from experienced professionals and be involved in high-impact capital improvement efforts, including the $80 million runway reconstruction project and the construction of Concourse A. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in aviation, engineering, construction management, planning, or public infrastructure to see how large-scale projects move from planning to execution.
The role is designed to balance learning and doing, providing exposure to professional airport processes, c onstruction project management , and day-to-day operations, all while working under direct supervision and mentorship. This position is designated as At-Will and is ideal for students looking to build practical skills, expand their professional network, and make a tangible impact early in their career.
Essential Functions
+ Assist with departmental projects and initiatives under supervision.
+ Participate in learning activities to gain practical knowledge of organizational processes.
+ Support documentation, tracking, and reporting of assigned tasks as needed.
+ Collaborate with team members to contribute to departmental objectives and goals.
+ Performs other duties as assigned. Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this position at any time.
Requirements
+ Undergraduate or Graduate student enrolled in a college or university.
+ Proficiency in MS Office products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills.
+ Ability to work independently with general guidelines under minimal supervision.
