Summary of Role: GlobalFoundries is seeking an energetic and highly motivated engineer for a position as an SMTS Yield Engineer in our state-of-the-art 300mm wafer fab in Malta, NY. The candidate will own yield improvement and product performance and be deeply involved with our top tier customers on our leading-edge Silicon Photonics platform. Essential Responsibilities Include:

+ Drive Innovation: Lead yield improvement and product performance projects for next-generation Silicon Photonics technology nodes (45nm and below), directly influencing products used by top-tier global customers.

+ Solve Complex Challenges: Drive understanding of cause for yield and functionality issues and lead cross functional taskforces for quick / cost effective solutions, accelerating time-to-market and boosting customer satisfaction. Your insights will unlock value for GF and our customers.

+ Collaborate Across Disciplines: Work side-by-side with experts in Test, Integration, and Process Modules to deliver fast, cost-effective solutions. Your technical leadership will shape the future of manufacturing.

+ Impact Customers Worldwide: Support customer engineering to exceed expectations and deliver robust, high-performance solutions that make a difference in real-world applications.

+ Continuous Improvement: Champion process enhancements to reduce costs, shorten cycle times, and strengthen manufacturing reliability.

Other Responsibilities:

+ Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

Required Qualifications:

+ Significant experience in Product / Yield Engineering with a focus on product yield and characterization.

+ Bachelor’s Degree + 8 Years Experience, MS + 7 Years or PhD + 5 Years Circuit Design, Electrical Engineering or related technical field

+ Excellent data analysis, problem-solving skills and communication skills with demonstrated experience influencing external teams.

+ Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a multicultural team environment

+ Affinity for quick learning

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Significant industry experience in Silicon Photonics with a focus on product yield and characterization.

+ Demonstrated expertise in driving complex technical problems with clear timelines.

+ Expertise in Silicon Photonics design, test, yield and device interactions.

Expected Salary Range

$118,000.00 - $210,000.00
