Job Title: Engineering Clerk
Job Description
+ Join a dynamic team as an Engineering Clerk, where you will handle printing, copying, and filing tasks to support the engineering department.
+ Your role will ensure the accurate and efficient distribution of drawings and documents, maintaining meticulous records and utilizing a variety of office machinery.
Responsibilities
+ Prepare letters of transmittal for all drawings and sketches.
+ Ensure all prints and copies are made and properly distributed.
+ Interpret customer inquiries to determine the correct drawing distribution.
+ Make drawing prints, check prints, and copies as required by company personnel and divisions.
+ Ensure all printers, copiers, and telecopier machines are properly loaded with paper and functioning.
+ Inform drafting manager or chief drafter of any inoperable equipment or missing drawings.
+ Become familiar with various drawing filing systems used by all divisions.
+ File original tracings and sketches, discarding older revisions and any drawings marked void.
+ Set up and maintain engineering department job files, including filing of returned prints, check prints, foreign prints, correspondence, and other drafting documents.
+ Procure and return company job files as required by engineers and drafters.
+ Assemble information required by drafters to prepare drawings.
+ Process and maintain foreign blueprint files for completed jobs.
+ Become familiar with the operation, setup, and procedures for using office machinery such as the phone system, engineering drawing printer, telecopier, photocopiers, laser printers, engineering computer system, and scanner.
+ Maintain drawing transmittal record books, logging drawings out and in, and managing pages as jobs complete.
+ Log in returned prints and maintain a listing of foreign blueprints by job.
+ Process drawing numbers from the scoreboard to the card file weekly.
+ Set up reminders on each drawing transmittal, check reminders against the list of returned drawings, and issue requests for drawing approval as required.
+ Maintain a list of drawings to be archived as jobs complete and send prints to be archived bimonthly.

+ Previous administrative experience of 1+ year

Work Environment
+ The role is onsite at the headquarters in Watertown, with approximately 50-60 employees at this location.
+ The working hours are from 8am to 4:30pm.
+ The company also has other sites in Ohio, Louisiana, Oregon, and internationally, but all tasks are handled locally and fairly separately.
+ The workplace offers a 'family-oriented' environment with excellent opportunities for advancement and is supported by a management team with decades of industry experience to mentor and train new recruits.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Watertown, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
