Guides work center personnel in the execution of a broad range of processes and practices to meet cybersecurity requirements. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Information Technology (IT) Management Series 2210 (Alternative A). INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: This standard allows eligibility through meeting either the requirements specified in the section titled education or experience. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is experience: ability to administers the Cybersecurity Program while applying cybersecurity principles, methods and security products to protect and maintain the availability, integrity, confidentiality and accountability of information system resources and information processed throughout the system's life cycle. .NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. OR EDUCATION: Applicants must possess a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management, mathematics, operations research, statistics or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the following fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. Ideal Candidate (statement is placed within the announcement): 2 years' work experience serving as a cybersecurity professional with knowledge of AF cybersecurity principles, practices, and methods for risk mitigation. Knowledge of cybersecurity requirements and techniques for protecting computer systems from unauthorized users, data tampering, and malicious threats. Knowledge of Emissions security requirements and TEMPEST standards for protecting classified data from emanations and unauthorized access. Strong verbal and written communication skills Proficient in conducting and participating in COMPUSEC and TEMPEST audits and assessments KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of a full range of cybersecurity principles, concepts, practices, products and services, and methods for evaluating risk and vulnerability, implementing mitigating improvement, and disseminating cybersecurity tools and procedures. 2. Knowledge of cybersecurity requirements for Assessment and Authorization, network operations and protocols, systems testing and evaluation, and performance management methods sufficient to plan and conduct security assessments. 3. Knowledge of enclave cybersecurity requirements and techniques for protecting computer systems from unauthorized users, data tampering, and malicious threats. 4. Knowledge of a broad range of telecommunications concepts and principles, operating modes, systems, media, equipment, equipment configuration, and related software systems, processes and procedures to assess and advise on vulnerability to attack from a variety of sources (e.g., espionage, disruption of services, destructive programs/applications) and procedures and methods for protection of systems and applications. 5. Ability to apply findings of assessments to mitigate cybersecurity risks through the implementation of corrective actions. 6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. 7. Ability to apply policies, principles, and cybersecurity concepts sufficient to carry out activities leading to Assessment and Authorization approval. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education ARE YOU USING YOUR EDUCATION TO QUALIFY?
