TEKsystems is hiring a Mid-Level Communications Network Engineer to support the — the largest IT services program for the U.S. Navy. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the backbone of the Navy Marine Corps, supporting enterprise‑wide network operations that directly impact national defense.

• What You’ll Do

As a Communications Network Engineer, you will:

+ Design, develop, and integrate current and future enterprise network architectures

+ Troubleshoot and resolve network outages, with a focus on BGP and OSPF

+ Install, configure, and maintain Cisco routers and switches

+ Define configuration baselines, version control, and support system upgrades

+ Perform daily monitoring of network health and system nodes

+ Support network design reviews with a strong emphasis on cybersecurity requirements

+ Coordinate network upgrades and maintenance with installation and build teams

+ Provide hands-on support for network operations, testing, and evaluations

• Must-Have Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

+ 6+ years of IT experience, with 4+ years in network administration

+ (OR 4 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field)

+ Strong troubleshooting experience with BGP, OSPF, WAN environments

+ Hands‑on experience with Cisco routers and switches

+ Active Secret clearance (required)

+ Security+ and CCNA (or the ability to obtain both within 6 months of hire)

• Nice-to-Have Skills

+ Enterprise network architecture or design experience

+ Prior experience supporting DoD or Navy networks

+ Familiarity with configuration management policies and procedures

+ Experience in large, complex, or regulated network environments

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.68 - $45.68/hr.
