We are seeking a detail‑oriented Patient Access Representative to join our onsite team. In this role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring accurate registration, insurance verification, scheduling, and financial communication. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, communicates clearly, and enjoys helping patients navigate their healthcare journey.
Responsibilities:
Deliver Exceptional Service
+ Greet patients according to Conifer Standards of Care and provide world‑class customer service.
+ Complete full and accurate registration at the time of service.
Ensure Accurate Documentation
+ Explain and obtain all required hospital and legal forms (Advance Directives, Consent for Treatment, Medicare notices).
+ Document and store forms in compliance with hospital and regulatory requirements.
Manage Patient Information
+ Scan, organize, and maintain Protected Health Information (PHI).
+ Prepare patient packets for upcoming visits to ensure readiness and efficiency.
Support Scheduling Needs
+ Assist with scheduling diagnostic procedures and post‑discharge appointments.
+ Enter scheduling information into the system and communicate clear appointment instructions.
Educate & Assist with Financials
+ Explain patient financial responsibilities and use compliant collection techniques before, during, and after service.
Handle Payments Securely
+ Process payments and complete cash reconciliation in accordance with hospital financial policies.
Verify Coverage & Obtain Authorizations
+ Confirm insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage.
+ Complete financial clearance requirements and obtain authorizations for scheduled and unscheduled services.
+ Notify payors promptly of inpatient admissions.
Skills & Qualifications
+ Minimum 35 wpm typing speed.
+ Working knowledge of PC/CRT/printer systems.
+ Understanding of hospital operations preferred.
+ Strong customer service experience
+ Ability to perform in a fast‑paced environment.
+ Clear oral and written communication skills.
+ Completion of a Medical Terminology course required.
+ Understanding of Third Party Payor requirements preferred.
+ Familiarity with compliance standards preferred.
+ Ability to perform essential duties in at least two Patient Access service areas, including ED.
+ Ability to use professional negotiation techniques to collect patient balances.
+ Strong relationship‑building and collaboration skills.
+ Proficiency interpreting physician orders, medical terminology, and insurance cards while upholding Conifer Standards of Care.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lebanon, NH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.89 - $22.30/hr.
