    Management Services Corporation, one of The Caton Companies, is seeking a full-time Parts Associate for our maintenance operations in Charlottesville, Virginia.

    Summary/Objective

    The Parts Associate is responsible for assisting the Inventory Control Manager with the operational oversight and control of inventory ordering, purchasing, receiving, and sales to maintain materials needed for warehouse and truck-based inventories for Management Service Corporation’s Main Office multifamily maintenance operation.

    Essential Functions

    + Maintain accurate inventory of products and supplies on hand.

    + Responsible for the purchasing, receiving, and sales of all inventory and special-order items to respond to product needs and maintain seasonal material levels for warehouse and truck-based inventories at the best price available, and in “just in time” fashion.

    + Anticipate potential inventory shortages or excesses and notify the Inventory Control Manager. Order new product and supplies to avoid inefficiencies or excessive supply.

    + Process and maintain all inventory related records using the Company’s established technology systems, including documenting daily deliveries and sales to update inventory and setting pricing for items received.

    + Maintain key inventory: ensure all keys are properly checked in and out and accurate records of these transactions are maintained using the established Company procedures.

    + Oversee FIFO inventory receiving and sales processes demonstrating a conceptual understanding of costs and pricing under the FIFO model.

     

    Work Environment

     

    This position works in a warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, and standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters and tape dispensers. Requires lifting of small equipment and tools.

     

    Required Education and Experience

     

    High School/Technical School/GED
