    Desktop Support Technician

     

    On‑Site | Full‑Time | Intermediate Level

    Position Overview

    TEKsystems is seeking a Desktop Support Technician to provide on‑site technical assistance to end users in a fast‑paced, customer‑facing environment. These roles involve installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and repairing desktop hardware and software within a primarily Windows‑based environment. Strong communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to work under pressure are essential.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Deliver on‑site desktop support including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and repair of devices.

    + Support end users directly through in‑person and remote assistance.

    + Configure and deploy computer equipment and peripherals.

    + Diagnose and resolve operating system and application issues.

    + Perform basic network troubleshooting and escalate complex issues when needed.

    + Document work in a ticketing system and follow established procedures.

    + Assist with imaging, upgrades, and device migrations.

    + Maintain strong communication and customer service while managing multiple support requests.

    Required Qualifications

    + Experience in desktop or technical support, including troubleshooting and hardware repair.

    + Strong customer service and communication skills.

    + Ability to work on‑site and interact directly with end users.

    + Basic understanding of network connectivity and troubleshooting.

    + Experience with structured support workflows and documentation.

    + Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Experience supporting Windows‑based environments.

    + Familiarity with device imaging and deployment.

    + Exposure to account administration and user access support.

    + Relevant certifications or equivalent knowledge.

    + Strong interpersonal skills and ability to support junior team members.

    Additional Notes

    + These are customer‑facing roles, so professionalism and communication are critical.

    + Junior candidates with strong technical aptitude and excellent people skills will be considered.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract position based out of Frankfort, KY.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.
