Position Overview
The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in the school setting is responsible for conducting student evaluations and providing speech-language therapy services in accordance with each student’s individualized plan of care and applicable physician orders. This role supports early childhood students with diverse communication, social, and developmental needs through play-based and interdisciplinary therapeutic approaches.
Assignment Details
+ Location: South Holland, IL
+ Start Date: ASAP (estimated February 2, 2026)
+ End Date: May 29, 2026
+ Duration: Full school year
+ Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
+ Break: 30-minute unpaid break
+ Hours: 32.5 hours per week
+ Pay Rate: $75 per hour
+ Completion Bonus: $1,000 for successful completion of the Spring semester
+ Modality: Onsite
+ Travel: N/A
Caseload Details
+ Caseload Size: Approximately 20 students
+ Student Population:
+ Early childhood / Pre-K students
+ Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Intellectual Disabilities
+ Needs related to verbal and nonverbal communication, social interaction, sensory processing and regulation, and academic engagement
+ Therapy Model: Play-based learning integrating language, motor, and assistive technology therapies
Primary Responsibilities
+ Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations
+ Provide individual and group therapy services
+ Document services and progress in compliance with required standards
+ Implement treatment plans aligned with student goals and physician orders
+ Collaborate with educators, therapists, and support staff
Minimum Requirements
+ Active Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license in the state of Illinois
+ Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred and may be required by contract
+ Compliance with all applicable professional standards of practice
+ CPR certification if applicable
+ TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray per requirements
+ Current health certificate per state or contract regulations
+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
