    Job Description:

    + Perform and document accurate initial and ongoing assessments to evaluate patient conditions and needs.

    + Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to address identified patient needs and goals.

    + Administer medications accurately and appropriately as ordered, monitoring patient responses and adjusting interventions as necessary.

    + Supervise and guide nursing personnel in delivering safe, therapeutic, and quality patient care, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.

    + Provide patient and family education about the care plan, medications, procedures, and other relevant information to ensure understanding and compliance. stabilize patients.* Assist physicians with bedside procedures and prepare patients for tests, procedures, and surgeries. * Monitor patient lab work for trends and report abnormal results for necessary actions. * Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families. * Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to policies, procedures, and infection control protocols. * Document all pertinent patient care information accurately and timely in the patient's medical record. * Participate in quality improvement and research activities by engaging in unit-based initiatives and evidence-based practice projects. * Respond effectively to emergencies by providing necessary interventions and coordinating with the healthcare team to

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Must be able to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patient, evaluate interventions, and revise plan of care according to patient outcomes.

    • Basic computer skills – must be able to navigate Microsoft windows based programs.

    • Must be fluent in English (read, verbal and written skills).

    • 1 year of nursing experience in an acute hospital setting.

    • Equipment use to stabilize and monitor patients (IV insertion, central lines, pulse ox, NG tubes, Foley, chest tubes, hemodynamics monitoring), including electronic medical record and automated dispensing medication system (pyxis).

    • Proficient clinical skills, critical thinking skills, and strong communication skills.

    • Commitment to hourly patient rounding and EKG interpretation class.

    • Frequent independent judgment, sound professional judgment and critical-thinking skills in clinical situations, including clinical assessment, data, and patient response.

    • Ability to continuously prioritize multiple duties and function in a calm and professional manner during stressful situations.

    • General knowledge of professional nursing principles and techniques, and the pharmacological process in the appropriate administration or delivery of medications.

    • Skill to maintain effective working relationships with health professionals and others to create an environment conducive to carrying out the mission of the facility.

    • Ability to communicate (verbal and written) effectively to direct the overall professional nursing services in a manner which encourages the open exchange of ideas and information.

    • Will float to appropriate departments within scope, skill/ability, and credentials.

    • Organizational and multi-tasking skills, knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures, and the ability to work as a team player within a unit.

    • Effective verbal and oral communication and problem-solving skills.
