Overview:
Utility Person is an entry level position that provides relief for Operations, Coal Yard, and Storeroom in addition to assisting in Maintenance activities. The starting pay for this role is $40.52 per hour and is eligible for benefits.
Responsibilities:
+ Utility Person works a varied schedule covering all working shifts (0700-1500, 1500-2300, 2300-0700, 0700-1900, and 1900-0700) and all days of the week.
+ Utility Person duties vary with the department they are assigned to, but include operation of power plant equipment, material handling equipment, cleaning, painting, and maintenance of plant equipment, buildings and grounds, heavy lifting, manual labor, digging, stores department work, climbing and working in hot, cold, dirty environments
+ Perform other tasks as assigned
Requirements:
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ Ability to work shift work
+ Ability to climb ladders, lift and carry heavy loads, perform manual labor
+ Ability to adapt to varying work schedules and assignments, learning to satisfactorily complete a variety of job duties
+ Ability to work in areas involving heights, enclosed spaces, and near or above water
+ Must be available and willing to work fair share of overtime, as requested
+ Previous power plant experience or knowledge is preferred
+ Previous shift-work experience is preferred
+ Demonstrate mechanical and/or process abilities is preferred
+ Utility Person must be able to work in a team environment
+ Utility Person will be **required** to train for plant Fire Brigade, Haz-Woper, and Emergency Response team as well as meet the requirements of Vistra's Respiratory Protection Program for these teams
+ Utility Person must be flexible and able to adapt to changing work schedules and work assignments
+ Must pass the POSS/MASS test
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
