Overview
The Manager of Support Services is responsible for the housekeeping and maintenance programs at the Nottingham RHCF (Rehabilitation Health Care Facility). The Manager provides guidance, support and leadership to ensure that attractive, orderly, safe, sanitary and efficient operational goals are met. The Manager supervises staff, ensuring compliance with operating policies and all governing regulations. Also collaborates with other departments and management staff while providing exceptional customer service in support of Loretto’s mission.
Responsibilities
Job Duties Specific to This Position:
+ Manages multi-disciplinary teams of staff for maintenance and housekeeping functions in a union environment.
+ Manages and inspects the condition of all resident living spaces and common areas, ensuring compliance with all health and sanitation standards and regulations to achieve a high level of cleanliness and resident satisfaction.
+ Collaborates with other departments to ensure efficient service and positive outcomes in all areas.
+ Ensures rooms are prepared for new occupancy to the highest standards in a timely manner.
+ Maintains a working knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures in order to ensure compliance in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior. Ensures that policies are maintained, updated, communicated, understood and consistently adhered to.
+ Monitors resident environment for safety, cleanliness and comfort. Addresses all concerns or takes appropriate action.
+ Monitors facility conditions for compliance to building codes and DOH regulations. Takes appropriate actions to correct conditions.
+ Monitors and maintains a survey-ready facility.
+ Takes a lead role in Disaster Training and staff preparation/education in conjunction with the facility Administrator.
+ Ensures all LSC (Life Safety Code) requirements are met and monitored as needed.
+ Leads, monitors and actively participates in routine quality assurance and quality assurance performance improvement activities.
+ Audits and inspects service locations, storage areas and equipment as needed. Corrects or takes action on problems or issues.
+ Ensures adequate supplies are maintained in inventory. Keeps accurate records of purchase orders and receipts.
+ Provides input for annual budget projections as required.
+ Monitors departmental budget lines. Initiates remedial action as appropriate.
+ Monitors use and maintenance of Loretto equipment to ensure maximum life. Establishes a preventive maintenance program and schedule for facility equipment, systems and fixtures. Manages the preventative maintenance program ensuring that equipment is in good working condition. Notifies Senior Director of capital needs.
+ Keeps organized records and documentation for supplies, equipment, and services.
+ May monitor and manage payroll budget, addressing issues appropriately.
+ Is available to take call and respond to emergencies 24/7.

+ As a Manager, this position is responsible for the ongoing operations and routine decision making within the function, department or site. Emphasis is on executing strategy and tactics. May provide input on strategic matters.

+ Delegates, organizes and coordinates the daily operations of departments within the function, department or site.

+ Keeps current in his/her area of specialization and in emerging and best practices.
+ Fosters process improvements for greater operating efficiency and resident/customer service. Ensures optimal workflow and adequate resources.
+ Actively leads or participates in meetings, teams and task forces as requested.
+ Ensures adequate skills, training and development among staff.
+ Manages and supervises assigned personnel, including performance management, scheduling, and orientation. With the Director and Human Resources guidance, makes or approves recommendations on employee hires, transfers, promotions, salary changes, disciplinary actions, terminations and similar actions. In conjunction with HR, resolves grievances and other personnel problems in a fair, timely and consistent manner.
+ May have input to or recommendations for operating budgets.

Qualifications
+ QUALIFICATIONS
+ High School diploma required. Associates degree preferred.
+ Minimum 5 years’ management experience in a related function, preferably in a union environment.
+ Outstanding customer service focus.
+ Highly organized and detail oriented.
+ Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with clients, residents, and families from diverse backgrounds who may have physical, sensory and mental impairments.
+ Able to lead, guide and motivate others.
+ Ability to build a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
+ Knowledge of electronic work request systems.
+ Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and able to learn new applications quickly.
An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.

+ Pay range: $62,400 - $67,000 annually, based on experience
