    1. Objective:

     

    Under general supervision, this position performs design coordination of seats and seat components. Coordinates changes with other internal company departments, vendors, and customers.

     

    2. Main Function and Responsibilities:

     

    A) Reviews specification as related to assigned job.

     

    B) Prepares check list.

     

    C) Prepares lay-outs.

     

    D) Prepares structural sub-assemblies and drawings.

     

    E) Prepares sketches for details.

     

    F) Reviews drawing package to assure conformance to requirements.

     

    G) Submits completed drawings to project lead for approval and release.

     

    H) Liaison for assigned task.

     

    I) Performs other duties as assigned.

    Candidate skills & requirements

    3. Qualification Requirements:

    A) Education & Qualification-

    • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Design Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Mechanical and Energy Engineering or a related engineering degree (minimum of 12 years equivalent related engineering experience will be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree).

    B) Work Experience - Technical knowledge-

    • Plus, an additional 2 years of related design experience required with Bachelors degree.

    • Or 1 year of related design experience required with Masters degree.

    C) Professional Skills-

    • Must have excellent drafting skills in CATIA V5 (or higher) and/or Pro/Engineer.

    • Must be able to provide complicated lay-outs and program design studies.

    • Must have the ability to generate written communication and to operate required office equipment.

    • Ability to read and review written communication.

    • Speech and hearing abilities that allow individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English.

    D) Behavioral Skills-

    • Must be able to interact successfully with engineering, tooling, and manufacturing departments.

    • Must be able to function as part of a design team.

    E) Desirable Aspects-

    • APQP, D&PFMEA, Control Plan, 8D Problem Solving etc.

    • CATIA V.5, Pro-E, and AutoCAD.

    4. Travel:

    • International and/or Domestic travel required; Less than 5%.
