    Overview

We’re seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with extensive RF experience to lead the design, upgrade, and sustainment of an RF anechoic chamber that serves as a hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test facility. You will own the end-to-end technical approach, from requirements and architectural design through vendor coordination, installation oversight, performance verification, and long-term operational readiness.

This role blends RF engineering, facility-level integration, and practical execution. You’ll work closely with systems, test, and embedded/software teams to ensure the chamber supports repeatable, high-fidelity HIL scenarios, reliable measurements, and safe, efficient operations.

    Pay Range $120,000 - $220,000

The pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, geographic location, and any applicable laws.

    Responsibilities

+ Lead RF anechoic chamber scene generator design and upgrade efforts: define requirements, develop the technical baseline, and drive the implementation plan.

+ Own chamber performance targets and translate them into design choices.

+ Architect the requirements for RF signal path for HIL operation: antennas, positioning/turntable systems, RF switching, filters/attenuators, couplers, power monitoring, and calibration approach.

+ Develop acceptance, verification, and calibration procedures; execute/oversee chamber certification testing and produce clear technical reports.

+ Work with vendors and subcontractors: create SOWs, review designs, manage technical risks, and provide on-site oversight during installation and commissioning.

+ Establish operational processes: maintenance plans, configuration control, safety procedures, and troubleshooting guides to keep the facility available and trusted.

+ Support HIL stakeholders by diagnosing measurement anomalies, identifying root causes (RF, grounding, EMI/EMC, software/config), and driving corrective actions.

    Qualifications

+ BS in Electrical Engineering (MS preferred) or closely related field.

+ 10+ years of RF engineering experience with demonstrated ownership of complex RF systems or facilities.

+ Hands-on experience with RF test equipment and measurements (VNA, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, power meter) and strong measurement discipline.

+ Experience designing or integrating RF environments/systems: antennas, feed networks, switching, filters/attenuators, couplers, shielding/grounding, and EMI/EMC considerations.

+ Ability to develop requirements and technical baselines, write specifications/SOWs, and lead technical execution with vendors and multi-disciplinary teams.

+ Strong documentation and communication skills; able to produce designs, test plans, and acceptance reports that withstand scrutiny.

    Nice to have

+ Direct experience designing, upgrading, or certifying RF anechoic chambers.

+ Experience with HIL facilities, automated test execution, and integrating RF stimulation/measurement into closed-loop testbeds.

+ RF/EM simulation experience (e.g., HFSS, CST, FEKO) and/or facility layout modeling for antenna placement and quiet-zone performance.

    Security requirements

    + Citizenship: U.S. citizenship required

+ Clearance: Active Secret required with ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI
