The National Director, Life Sciences for Leica Biosystems is responsible for driving business growth and be a dynamic leader with a proven ability to lead teams to revenue and share gain in the life science market
This position will report to the Vice President, Life Sciences and will be part of the Life Sciences team.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
+ Sales Leadership & Management Lead and develop a national team of eight sales specialists across the USA to drive execution of annual sales plans, accurate forecasting, pipeline management, and regular business reviews with executive leadership.
+ Strategic & Operational Planning Contribute to the design and refinement of compensation plans, territory structures, coverage models, develop and implement national strategies to penetrate and grow academic research and biopharma accounts.
+ Market Intelligence & Business Analysis Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and customer needs to inform commercial strategy.
+ Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner closely with marketing, operations, service, and other internal stakeholders to align on commercial initiatives and achieve corporate growth goals.
+ Talent Development & Coaching Identify, recruit, coach and develop top sales talent to build a high-performing commercial organization.
+ Key Account Strategy & Customer Engagement Build and maintain high-level relationships within major academic and biopharma accounts, and navigate complex sales cycles and high-value opportunities,
The essential requirements of the job include:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Cell & Molecular Biology, Structural Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Genetics & Genomics, Immunology, Synthetic Biology, Life Sciences, or a related scientific discipline relevant to biotech or pharma.
+ Minimum 10+ years of leadership-level consumable and capital equipment sales experience within the life sciences, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical sectors,
+ Demonstrated track record of driving regional or national revenue growth.
+ Demonstrated ability to oversee CRM systems to ensure accurate, actionable data on customer engagements, pipeline health, and revenue forecasting
+ Working knowledge of advanced imaging and molecular technologies, including fluorescence and brightfield microscopy, antibody discovery and development workflows, immunoprecipitation, spatial transcriptomics and proteomics, fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), RNAscope, and AI-driven image analysis platforms.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
• 50% - 75%
• Frequent overnight travel. Occasional international travel may be required.
• Must Possess a valid Driver’s license and meet fleet eligibility requirements

The salary range for this role is $200,000 - $270,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
