Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer with a strong electronics background to support the production of avionics hardware used in both commercial and military aircraft. This role focuses on Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs), electronic components, and box‑level assemblies, ensuring they are built efficiently, accurately, and to the highest quality standards.
You will develop and improve manufacturing processes, create clear work instructions, support production teams, and collaborate closely with engineering, quality, and operations. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on problem solving, process ownership, and working in a fast‑paced aerospace manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Manufacturing & Process Engineering
+ Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for electronic assemblies, CCAs, and box builds.
+ Create clear manufacturing work instructions that translate engineering drawings into simple, actionable steps for assemblers and technicians.
+ Review engineering documentation (schematics, BOMs, drawings, ECOs) and ensure production alignment.
+ Support prototype builds and transition new products into full‑rate production.
+ Specify tooling, fixtures, and equipment needed for efficient assembly and testing.
Production Support & Troubleshooting
+ Provide hands‑on support to resolve build issues on the production floor.
+ Perform root‑cause analysis on failures and implement corrective actions.
+ Collaborate with test technicians to troubleshoot electronic and functional test issues.
+ Train operators and technicians on new processes, equipment, and product changes.
Continuous Improvement
+ Identify and implement process improvements to reduce cost, improve yield, and enhance throughput.
+ Analyze workflow, space utilization, and labor efficiency to support operational goals.
+ Participate in Lean, Six Sigma, and TPM activities across the site.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
+ Work closely with design engineering to influence manufacturability and resolve technical issues.
+ Support Quality Assurance to maintain high product yield and compliance.
+ Assist Sales, Purchasing, and Program teams with technical information and production planning.
Required Qualifications
+ 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in aerospace, defense, or electronics manufacturing.
+ Strong electronics background including troubleshooting, schematic interpretation, and understanding of CCAs and electronic assemblies.
+ Experience developing manufacturing processes and writing work instructions.
+ Proficiency with SolidWorks for tooling, fixture, or mechanical interface design.
+ Knowledge of PCB design principles for high‑speed circuitry.
+ Effective communication and teamwork skills with the ability to support production personnel.
+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or related).
+ U.S. Person status required due to ITAR regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience with Altium Designer or similar PCB design tools.
+ Lean/Six Sigma training or certification.
+ Familiarity with Industry 4.0 concepts and digital manufacturing tools.
+ Understanding of configuration management in a regulated environment.
Salary Range:
$77,900.00-$103,800.000

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
